Launch of Academy for Systemic Change

Tabernash, Colorado
Academy for Systemic Change »

The Academy for Systemic Change is a new initiative that aims to nurture emerging leaders across a variety of critical eco-systems.  It has been designed by some of the world's leading systems thinkers. They will partner with leading practicioners to employ tools and practices that have a proven track record of efficacy, and exemplar organizations that have clearly articulated their commitment to this work.  Their goal is to address the complex challenges of the world at an ecological, societal, economic and spiritual level. They will work with leaders who have a demonstrated ability to balance the personal, intellectual, emotional and social aspects of leadership, and who are comfortable operating at the edge of possibility.

The initial cohort will engage in a one-year program, and include those involved in the sustainability challenges of food and agriculture, education, sustainable cities and communities, marine ecosystems and fisheries, tropical rain forests, fresh water, business and finance.  Students will work with faculty, mentors and peers to deepen their understanding of systemic change and apply it directly to their project based work.

Blackstone Ranch Institute provided the initial challenge grant to launch the effort. That grant was quickly matched, and provides the Academy with the resources to prepare for the launch in early 2015.
